3 Feet from Gold...
I've a cool story for you today. Something
you can "bank" on if you put its moral to use.
First, a quick gripe. I do not like the implications
behind the saying:
"When the going gets tough, the tough
get going."
Facing challenges -- like the fear of doing
make money online --
requires more than a tough guy
attitude.
Primarily it requires the right mindset. If
you look at things the "wrong" way, then the
things you look at seem wrong.
Even if they're not. Case in point...
In the famous book "Think and Grow Rich",
Napoleon Hill recounts the story of R.U.
Harby.
Harby had an uncle who caught "gold fever". He
staked a claim to some land and began digging.
Finally, he hit upon a vein of gold ore.
So he hid his find, returned home and raised
money for the supplies and equipment needed
to extract his find.
He raised enough money and took
Darby along to help out.
They thought their fortune was assured.
They got to working and before long they took
out enough gold to pay off their debts.
From that point forward, every ounce of gold
they extracted would be profit. Then, all of
a sudden, they could not find any more gold.
They pressed on to no avail.
Disappointment, frustration and fear of
failure overwhelmed the two men.
They quit. Selling the equipment
to a junk man for a pittance.
(Here's the moral!)
The junk man had the right mindset.
He didn't "get tough" and start digging without
having a clue what he was doing.
Instead, he commissioned a mining engineer to
check the mine. He discovered the vein of gold
was just three feet from where Darby and his
uncle quit.
Now, a lot of people who read this story will
think it's about perseverance.
And, yes, it is. But it's about more than that.
It's about understanding that ultimately success
or failure is about "how" you think and "what"
you think about.
The junk man got informed. Based on accurate
information he became a wealthy man.
Same thing applies to make money online.
If you're having a tough time getting yourself
to practice make money online then getting
"tough" with yourself is NOT the answer.
Your best bet is to assess what's really going
on. What's really stopping you from putting
your skills to use.
